The King County Housing Authority provides the following rental housing and rental assistance programs in Redmond.
Please note: This list is only an overview. KCHA's housing search tool can give you a better estimate of your eligibility based on your family size, income, and housing preferences.
Section 8 Vouchers
Section 8 vouchers help people with low incomes rent homes on the private market. With a voucher, you pay at least 28 percent, but not more than 40 percent (in the first year), of household income for rent and utilities. KCHA pays the difference between your portion of the rent and the amount your landlord requests. Learn about Section 8 vouchers.

Subsidized Housing
Subsidized housing – which includes public housing – helps people with low incomes rent apartments they can afford. In most cases, they pay no more than 30 percent of their household's monthly income for rent and utilities. KCHA owns and manages nearly all of this type of housing and many communities offer on-site social services. Learn about subsidized housing.

Avondale Manor

Comfortable townhouse apartments near downtown Redmond. Each unit is equipped with laundry hookups and features decks. Four-bedroom units can accommodate larger families. Redmond Elementary School is just two blocks away. Anderson and Bear Creek parks are within three blocks and the Redmond Town Center is a five-minute drive away.

Forest Glen

Conveniently located in the middle of Redmond, a historic Eastside city that is home to Microsoft and other high-tech businesses, Forest Glen is quiet and woodsy as its name would suggest. Patricia Harris Manor is located within walking distance of downtown Redmond, Redmond Town Center, other shopping and the Redmond Transit Center. Residents have easy access to outdoor activities at nearby Marymoor Park and the Sammamish River Trail. The three-story building has elevator access. Tenants have access to a community room with a full kitchen and on-site laundry facilities.

Other Rental Housing
KCHA's other rental housing helps people with low incomes rent apartments they can afford. Some tenants pay a percentage of their income toward rent each month, while others pay a flat rent amount. Village at Overlake Station

Studio, one-, and two-bedroom units in the first transit-oriented development of its kind in the country, a 308-unit community that integrates affordable housing with a child-care facility and a bus transit center. Completed in early 2002, the complex features reserved parking, controlled access and a playground with equipment. Spectrum Academy manages a Montessori center at the property and provides discounts to Overlake residents on a first-come, first-served basis. Overlake is within walking distance of major Eastside employers and stores.
