Welcome to the trophy guide for Headliner: NoviNews. This can also be considered a walkthrough and may be used for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam. Achievements for Steam and Xbox are in almost all cases the same as the PlayStation 4 Trophies. A roadmap is provided in the stages below.

Stage 1 – Playthrough 1.
In Headliner: Novinews, you’re required to play 5 playthroughs minimum for the platinum. You’ll need those to get all the different trophies. For the first playthrough though, you’ll be clearing out as many trophies as possible making subsequent playthroughs easier to track and manage.
Note: Headliner Autosaves at when you sleep in your apartment. If you don’t like the articles you have/they are confusing or conflicting, you can quit to main menu and reload your save. This will restart the day with refreshed articles, it’s helpful when aiming for specific routes.
In Playthrough 1 you’ll be earning:
Days 1 – 14 trophies.
Adopt A Dog.
Lose A Dog.
Crime Profiling Foreigners.
Adopt A Drone.
Barely A Crowd…
Comedy Fail.
Privatized Healthcare
Affordable Medicine.
Hospitalized.
Deep Pockets.
Prevent Drone Incident.

HEADLINER.
To do all of the above, it requires certain articles to be approved and not approved. So what you’re looking out for during your 1st playthrough is:
~Publish positive articles about BetterBuzz & do not blame the suicide on anyone.
~Only publish crime articles when they mention foreigners.
~Do not publish anything about drones, increasing the police, or help them at all. You want the city unguarded.
~Do not publish any articles for Justin nor pay the bartender, then visit his show to see it fail.
~Publish everything in favor of the government.
~Do not publish anything about conspiracies.
~Talk to Rudy everyday and convince him to sell BetterBuzz.
~Adopt the dog but do not feed it.
~Adopt the drone and give it batteries.
~Do not support Justin in any manner, be cruel to him. Make sure to tell him not to see a therapist, and convince him to take MoodEx.
Stage 2 – Playthrough 2.
Playthrough 2 introduces the policewoman and a few minor changes, nothing else really noteworthy. In this Playthrough you’ll do the opposite of last playthrough to get a lot of the alternate trophies.
In Playthrough 2 you’ll be earning:
Crime Profiling Domestic.
What a Crowd!
Comedy Star.
Call to Fame.
Smooth Criminal.
Conspiracy!
Bye, Boss.
Assassination.
True Love.
Nationalized Healthcare.
Drone Incident.
Return Customer.
Bad Blood.
To do all of the above requires certain articles to be approved and not approved. So what you’re looking out for during your 2nd playthrough is:
~Only approve crime articles mentioning native Novistanians.
~Either publish Justin’s article or pay the bartender.
~Make the Healthcare affordable by all.
~Always support Evie, be polite to her, agree with her, sweet talk her, Invite her to Justin’s show etc.
~Be polite to Justin, encourage him, have him stay at your apartment, etc.
~Show up to his show with Evie as your date and watch the success, continue to support him afterwards in every manner. He’ll eventually get the chance to go to a new city, support it and push him into it.
~Actively help support the policewoman, don’t mention to anyone that you looked under the payphone, publish all articles about the police investigation.
~Whenever the Brown Coats approach you, agree to help them every time. Publish all their articles.
~Don’t support the government, the police force, or security.
~Support the foreigners in every way you can.
~Decrease drug prices.
~Never support BetterBuzz, make sure to get Rudy to sell BetterBuzz.
Stage 3 – Playthrough 3.
Playthrough 3 will not introduce anything new. In this Playthrough you’ll be focusing on alternate trophies of past choices, and choices that couldn’t be made in the last 2.
In Playthrough 3 you’ll be earning:
True Hate.
Impeachment.
Elementary, Watson!
Overdose.
Death by Press.
To do all of the above, it requires certain articles to be approved and not approved. So what you’re looking out for during your 3rd playthrough is:
~Disagree, disapprove, and be rude to Evie every chance you can. Do not ignore her, you want to engage in every conversation you can, then be completely rude and degrading to her.
~Disagree with all the government articles that support The PM, and do not support the conspiracies.
~Help solve the crime again. Talk to everyone, do not tell anyone you looked under the payphone, and this time ONLY publish the FIRST article the policewoman asks of you, nothing more.
~Do not support BetterBuzz. Blame BetterBuzz for the suicides, do not let Rudy sell it.
~Lower the drug prices. Approve of MoodEx and convince Justin to take it and not see a therapist.
~Privatize the healthcare.
Stage 4 – Playthrough 4.
Playthrough 4 is a clean-up run,you’ll earn very few in this run. It’s just a couple of the remaining alternate trophies.
In Playthrough 4 you’ll be earning:
Price Hike.
Business Fail!
Taken Away.
To do all of the above, it requires certain articles to be approved and not approved. So what you’re looking out for during your 4th playthrough is:
~To approve the increase in drug prices.
~Support globalization. You want Dyna to thrive.
~Support foreign trade and not national.
~Do not talk to Rudy, or if you do, do not let him sell BetterBuzz.
~Be supportive of Justin, get him to perform at the club, then when he is in jail. do not bail him out.
Stage 5 – Playthrough 5.
Playthrough 5 is the last required playthrough. You’ll be going for your final trophy, which is to make your boss proud..
In Playthrough 5 you will earn:
Taken Away.
Good Job, Headliner!
Fifth Time’s the Charm.
HEADLINER.
To do all of the above, it requires certain articles to be approved and not approved. So what you’re looking out for during your 5th playthrough is:
~Make sure not to blame anyone for the suicides.
~Support the government/Wolff until the meeting with the Browncoats in the Soup Shop basem*nt. Publish the Truthtellers article. A riot happens and Wolff will be assassinated. Your boss will be mad, but you’ll only get a warning not to do it again.
~Support BetterBuzz always.
~Do not approve of the conspiracists’ first article before the meeting with them.
~Don’t support your brother, don’t advertise his show, don’t invite anyone to his date and show up to his show.
~He’ll be arrested shortly after. Do not bail him out. Let him stay in jail.
Trophies

Complete the Game.

Beat the game 5 times.
Complete 5 playthroughs of the game.

Complete the game twice.
You will be playing the game many times to earn all trophies. Finish your second playthrough to earn this trophy.
Bye, Boss
Get your Boss taken away.
Publish all the negative articles on the government, Prime Minister, and publish the Conspiracy article (Brown Trenchcoats). Eventually your Boss will be replaced with a representative from the government.
Minister of Information
Become the Headliner of the Nation.
Support only positive articles about the government and the Prime Minister. Your boss will eventually be arrested and as you continue to support the government. This will lead to you becoming the Headliner of the Nation.
True Hate
Get Evie to despise you.
Every interaction will need to be negative. Examples are:
-Tell her you do not want to hear her problems.
-Tell her to go back to where she came from.
-Tell her you trust the government and their support of their own citizens and no outsiders
-Tell her you support health care privatization and you have no regards for her health.
Eventually towards the end of your playthrough when you are not polite or caring about her, she will eventually despise you.
Elementary, Watson!
Help cops solve the murder.
Do the same as in ‘Smooth Criminal’ except only publish the 1st article asking for help from the police. Do not publish any other than those or the murderer will flee.
Smooth Criminal
Alert the murderer in time for them to skip town.
(This trophy can’t be earned in the first playthrough). During the 2nd playthrough and on, there will be a female officer in your game. Talk to her and agree to help with the case. Talk every day to the pertinent people and the officer and question them all. The 2 things to watch out for are: Do not tell anyone you looked under the payphone and published all articles about the police case. The murderer will read them and flee.
Crime Profiling Domestic
Only blame Novistanians for crimes.
Whenever you start a new day, you’ll have chances to approve of or disapprove of articles. One of the categories of articles to choose from is the Police/Crime category. You will only want to approve articles mentioning: Novistanians, Neighbours of the Victim, Childhood in Novistan, Etc. Anything that shows that they’re Novistanian.
Assassination
PM Wolff gets assassinated.
Do not publish articles that support the government, PM Wolff, blame outsiders, support drones and police. Believe the Conspirators (Brown Trenchcoats) and publish articles from them. At the outdoor rally for PM Wolff, he will be assassinated by a drone.
Drone Incident
What the hell just happened!?
Publish articles that do not support drones, police, and the military.
Barely a Crowd…
Keep a small crowd at Justin’s show.
Do NOT publish the article to promote Justin’s show and do NOT pay the bar owner to help promote his show.
Deported
They ain’t takin’ our jobs no longer!
Publish articles that support the government and blame outsiders for problems. Eventually she will be outside the News Office and get taken away.
Nationalized Healthcare
Healthcare for all!
In Headliner, you have different ‘categories’ of news to approve or disapprove of. Healthcare is one of those categories. You’ll want to approve all requests favoring to privatize healthcare. On the 4th day there will be a paper about privatizing healthcare or healthcare for everyone. Approve the healthcare for everyone paper. This trophy will pop when you talk to your boss on day 5.
Privatized Healthcare
Efficient and quality care for those who can afford it
In Headliner you have different ‘categories’ of news to approve or disapprove of. Healthcare is one of those categories. You’ll want to approve all requests favoring to privatize health care. On the 4th day there will be a paper about privatizing healthcare or healthcare for everyone. Approve the privatization of it. This trophy will pop when you talk to your boss on day 5.
Price Hike
Cause drug prices to go up.
Publish articles that are positive about medication, that the free market will right itself, and that a seizure medication was not made, since the price was too low for it.
Affordable Medicine
Cause drug prices to go down.
Publish articles that are positive about medication and that medication prices needs to be affordable. Do NOT publish the article about the low price for the seizure medication that was not made.
What a Crowd!
Bring a big crowd to Justin’s first show.
Either publish the article promoting Justin’s first show, or pay the amount demanded by the bar owner to promote the show.
Hospitalized
Not all comedians have what it takes…
Support private healthcare and BetterBuzz (This one is important or he’ll OD), and low drug prices. Do NOT have Justin see a therapist and do support the MoodEx use. Eventually Justin will be staying at your apartment and you will find him passed out on the floor. There will be alcohol and drug bottles on the floor. Try to help Justin and then he will be taken to the hospital.
Lose a Dog
Woof, woof :(.
After you adopt the dog on Day 2, refuse to take care of it. Don’t talk to it, don’t acknowledge it, don’t feed it, nothing. Yeah, people will riot and you’ll feel terrible, but on the 6th day when it dies, you’ll get a bronze trophy.
Deep Pockets
Save up 600n.
Bank 600n to earn this trophy. This can be done by following the advice of your boss to NOT publish articles about DNA modifications or any conspiracy (Brown Trenchcoats) articles. You will earn 50n a day and bonuses for doing so. 2 easy and good bonuses are to solve the murder (you’ll get a fee for helping) and support BetterBuzz. It’s better to also NOT spend your money on anything. Therefore, do NOT adopt a dog and/or drone. As soon as you have 600n accumulated, you will earn this trophy.
Lose a Drone
Beep, boop :(.
Drones require batteries to stay charged. You can buy these batteries from Rudy. To earn this trophy, do not buy them. If you never fed the drone any batteries, it should power down on the 10th Day.
Adopt a Drone
Beeb, boop!
On the 7th day, a Drone will come up to you just like the dog did. Talk to the Drone and agree to take it home for this trophy.
True Love
Get Evie to date you.
Be supportive of Evie by listening and being supportive of her concerns and needs. Invite her to Justin’s show. Be supportive of outsiders and be flirtatious with her. Support lower medication prices, health care for everyone, and do NOT get her deported. Eventually she will be in your apartment and you will earn this trophy.
Overdose
. . .
Publish articles that support private healthcare, the lower medication prices, and MoodEx. Do NOT have Justin see a therapist and do NOT support BetterBuzz. Bail Justin out of jail if needed. Eventually Justin will be in your apartment where you find him passed out on the floor. If there is only drug bottles on the floor, then Jusin has overdosed. Do NOT see if he is breathing and do as little as possible to help Justin.
Adopt a Dog
Woof, woof!
During Day 2, a dog will approach you. Interact with it and choose “Hey there little guy…” and “Want to come along?”. The trophy will pop once you return to your apartment.
HEADLINER
Complete the Game.
Headliner Novinews has a total of 14 days in it. Successfully make it through all 14 days and return to your apartment for your final rest to earn this.
Death by Press
The Headliner was never heard nor seen again
Publish articles that support the government and PM Wolff. Do NOT publish any of the Conspiracy (Brown Trenchcoats) articles. Do NOT adopt a drone. Also, do NOT publish artifices that support drones/police/military. Towards the end of Day 14 you will be cornered and disposed of by the conspiracists (Brown Trenchcoats).
Call to Fame
Help Justin begin a promising career.
Be supportive of Justin by publishing articles that support healthcare for all, lower drug prices, and tell Justin to see a therapist. Do NOT tell Justin to take MoodEx. Promote Justin’s comedy career at every opportunity. Therefore, publish the article about his first comedy show or pay the bar owner to help promote it. Also, publish the article about the upcoming Festival that Justin will be performing at.
Conspiracy!
The truth is out there…
During your gameplay, a man in a Brown Trenchcoat will stop you and try to tell you of the Government’s Truth. Agree to publish the article and publish it the next day. A short while after you’ll be able to visit their hide out and talk to them. Agree to the requests again and once again do as they say. After their 2nd assignment, you should have successfully put the truth out there.

Whenever you start a new day, you’ll have chances to approve of or disapprove of articles. One of the categories of articles to choose from is the Police/Crime category. You will only want to approve articles mentioning: Learisians and Non-Native Novistanians.
Prevent Drone Incident
Keeping Novistan safe!
Publish articles that support having drones, police, and military.
War
Novistan invades Learis.
Publish articles that blame outsiders for any kind of problems. Support the government (Do not publish anything from the Brown Trenchcoats), PM Wolff, drones, police, and military. Publish to call for inspections of Learis and any articles negative towards them. A general distrust of all non-Novistans and its citizens.
Burn, Baby, Burn!
Set a competitor on fire.
Publish articles that have a negative view on globalization and blame outsiders for the plague or suicides that are happening in Novi.
Business Success!
Help the local shopkeeper thrive.
Support BetterBuzz articles and have Rudy sell it in his store. Never publish any negative articles on BetterBuzz. Also, do NOT support globalization and blame the plague and suicides on outsiders.
Bad Blood
Have local shopkeeper’s store burned.
The local shopkeep is Rudy. Burning down his store doesn’t have a lot of prerequisites. The ones to burn down his store are the BetterBuzz Protestors. So you will have to completely disapprove of every BetterBuzz article, blame BetterBuzz for the suicides, and convince Rudy to sell BetterBuzz. Eventually the Protestors will be so upset with Rudy they’ll burn his store down.
Sell Out
Rudy’s Moonshine thrives.
Publish articles that support BetterBuzz and NEVER publish any negative articles about it. Tell Rudy to sell BetterBuzz. Eventually Rudy will sell more and more varieties of BetterBuzz. This will lead to him changing the store name to Rudy’s Moonshine.
Comedy Star
Help Justin perform well at his first show.
Your brother Justin is an aspiring comedian. His first show will be on the 8th day. From the 1st day until the 8th you have to support him every chance you can. Tell him his jokes are great, be polite to him, tell people he is good, advertise for him, bring a date, etc. Show up to his show on the 8th to watch him perform well.
Taken Away
Have Justin disappear forever.
Justin is your brother and an aspiring comedian. Justin will perform a comedy routine on Day 8. Unfortunately, chances are that he will be arrested due to his jokes’ contents. The cops offer to bail him out for 200n. Ignore the bail, leave him in jail until the very end of the game.
Good Job, Headliner!
Make your Boss proud.
Probably the trickiest trophy in the game. You need to keep your boss from getting fired and support the government until you publish the article from the Browncoats’ meeting.
So you’ll have to:
~Make sure not to blame anyone for the suicides.
~Support the government/Wolff until the meeting with the Browncoats in the Soup Shop basem*nt. Publish the Truthtellers article. A riot happens and Wolff will be assassinated. Your boss will be mad, but you’ll only get a warning not to do it again.
~Support BetterBuzz always.
~Do not approve of the conspiracists’ first article before the meeting with them.
Business Fail!
Help the local shopkeeper go under
Publish articles that are supportive of globalization. When in Rudy Mart, either do NOT speak to him at any length (so just buy what you need/want from his store), or do NOT have him sell BetterBuzz. Also, do NOT support the lower medication prices, as this will make the MoodEx too expensive for him to buy for his daughter. Eventually he will be struggling with paying his bills as the competition (Duna Buy) will be doing very well and Rudy decides to close his business. You can even convince him to take a job at the Duna Buy.
You’re Fired!
Lose your job.
To lose your job you will need to get 3 strikes from your boss. The best way to do this is to NOT support BetterBuzz and publish 3rd rate articles, which are Justin’s show promotion, and the Conspiracy (Brown Trenchcoats) articles.
Comedy Fail
Help Justin perform badly at his first show.
Your brother Justin is an aspiring comedian. His show will be on the 8th day. From the 1st day until the 8th you have to sabotage every chance you can. Tell him his jokes suck, be rude to him, refuse to help him, do not advertise for him, don’t bring a date, etc. Show up to his show on the 8th to watch him perform badly.
Dronno to the Rescue!
Make a life-long friend who saves your life
Make sure adopt the drone that you meet. Be positive to the drone and buy/give it batteries as often as you can. You will need to publish articles that do NOT support the police/military. You will publish articles that do support the government and PM Wolff. On Day 14, right before your apartment, you will be approached by the Brown Trenchcoats who will attempt to assassinate you. However, your drone will come to your rescue.
